The Downtown Lynn Cultural District has a total of ten grants to be awarded to local artists who propose a creative placemaking project that demonstrates positivity and inclusivity through their art. All forms and genres of art will be considered; i.e. live performance, murals, enhancements to facades and other properties, music-related works, etc. This program will allow the DTLCD, with a focus most often on the downtown area of Lynn, to provide opportunities for local artists to spread their talents throughout the entire city, broadening our reach into various neighborhoods and communities and offering a platform for widespread community engagement and creative placemaking efforts.

We hope the implementation of these works will further contribute to a more positive perception of our city and, in-turn, attract visitors from all areas of Lynn to our downtown.

Each chosen artist will receive $1,000 towards their project paid through an initial $500 stipend, then a $500 reimbursement at the end of the granting period (after July 1, 2020) upon satisfactory proof of completion. For the full RFP, please click here.

Applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. The first ten applicants who meet all criteria and requirements will be notified of their award immediately.

All projects must be completed between March 1, 2020 – May 31, 2020.

*Application portal opens Monday, February 3, 2020 at 12pm.*

Closes Monday, February 24, 2020 at 4pm.
