Marblehead Little Theater announces non-Equity auditions for YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, with book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, and music and lyrics by Mel Brooks. Produced by Bruce Whear and Bobby Kerrigan, directed by Bobby Kerrigan, with music direction by Marcia L. Groome and choreography by Kelly Murphy. Auditions will be by appointment for actors aged 15 years or older. Walk-ins will be seen as time allows.
Auditions will take place Saturday, November 16, 12:00 p.m-5:00 p.m. Actors should sign up for a singing audition between 12-2 p.m. or 3-5 p.m. All actors should also be prepared to attend a mandatory dance call from 2-3 p.m. Please plan to stay after your singing audition or arrive beforehand to attend the dance call. For the dance call, actors should wear appropriate dance footwear and bring tap shoes if you have them. Please prepare a verse and a chorus of a song from or in the style of the show. Sheet music should be brought to the audition and an accompanist will be provided. Auditions and call-backs will be held at MLT at 12 School St. Marblehead, MA.
Performance Dates are March 6 through 15, 2020, with 8 performances total. Rehearsals will be held from January 8 through February 27, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm, and February 2 through 23, Sundays from 1:00 pm- 5:00 pm. Tech week will include a cue to cue on March 1, and tech rehearsals from March 2 through 5, 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm.
