The Essex County Artist Fund is Essex County Community Foundation’s response to the immediate and everyday needs of artists to be supported and lifted up across the county and across sectors. At ECCF, our philosophy is to build a creative ecosystem focused on awareness and appreciation for arts and culture, capacity building, collaboration, and cultural planning. Individual artists and arts/culture organizations are key to this network. www.eccf.org/creative-county.
Artist Name: jillian – Gloucester

Creative Practice: The past two years have felt the most flowing + fruitful of my entire career as an artist. I have enjoyed participating in auctions and fairs and featuring my work throughout the Summer and Fall at ,The Market Restaurant, on the Annisquam River, and Three Stones Gallery in Rockport,MA. Last Summer , I was fortunate enough to occupy a beautifully sunlit and rent controlled studio at Cripple Cove in east Gloucester
Artist Statement: While caring for my Mom and bringing her to treatments in Boston and here on Cape Ann, I was struck by how much the hospital/s collection of art calmed us during these trying times. Addison Gilbert kindly accepted my request to donate and hang a piece for their cancer ward. On a lighter note, I enjoyed donating a collection, of smaller watercolors, to Gloucester Youth’s Sailing Team ,in their effort to raise enough funding for any one with a wish, if not the means to saiL here on the harbor.
