The Essex County Artist Fund is Essex County Community Foundation’s response to the immediate and everyday needs of artists to be supported and lifted up across the county and across sectors. At ECCF, our philosophy is to build a creative ecosystem focused on awareness and appreciation for arts and culture, capacity building, collaboration, and cultural planning. Individual artists and arts/culture organizations are key to this network. www.eccf.org/creative-county.

Creative Practice: After receiving my BFA in 2017 I have continued my practice as a large scale oil painter. I have branched out into digital prints and design work as an exploration and ability to be more profitable. I have worked out of my studio at Porter Mill for almost three years. Much of my work explores the human form, specifically the female form. It works to subvert the physical toll the female form takes on in life, in media, and the world. My work explores how abstraction can correspond to this type of breaking the female form deals with. My work deals with the ooey gooey, ugly side of things while bringing a humor to some of this darkness. I work in mostly oil paint, on a large scale- some of my pieces fill the entire studio wall. I have transformed some of my paintings into stickers to sell out of my studio as well as selling fiber goods at gallery/holiday shop events.
Artist Statement: My works deals with the female form and body and poses questions and ideas about the violence the female form takes on in daily existence. My work is concerned with the history of identity and self of females and female identifying people.
