The Essex County Artist Fund is Essex County Community Foundation’s response to the immediate and everyday needs of artists to be supported and lifted up across the county and across sectors. At ECCF, our philosophy is to build a creative ecosystem focused on awareness and appreciation for arts and culture, capacity building, collaboration, and cultural planning. Individual artists and arts/culture organizations are key to this network. www.eccf.org/creative-county.
Artist Name: Rusty Kinnunen – Rockport

Creative Practice: Our business is Rusty & Ingrid Creative Company. We are an artist couple who design and hand-print original silkscreen prints, which we produce in our own studio, and we sell at our two retail locations, online and at art markets. We have been in business in Essex County since 2012.
Artist Statement: Our vision is to create beautiful, affordable handmade fine art that celebrates shared experiences, especially in the New England region; and to encourage creative businesses in general. We have created opportunities for creative businesses in our local community by producing art market shopping events such as Rockport Makers’ Festival (Dec. 2019 & Dec. 2018), Harbortown Arts Festival (Gloucester, May, 2015); as well as providing pro-bono graphic design and branding services for the Town of Rockport, office of Community Development (ongoing).
