Because the arts bring communities to life.
With $160K of support from ECCF’s Creative County Initiative, the Essex County Creative Nonprofit Resiliency Grant Program succeeded in helping forty-seven creative nonprofits weather the early economic devastation of COVID-19, and the CCI creative network continues to grow and strengthen as a result. The Essex County Artist Fund remains open for individual artists economically affected by COVID-19.

Mission: The mission of the Rockport Art Association & Museum (RAA&M) is to foster the creation and appreciation of the fine arts through a rich and diverse program of exhibitions and educational programs. RAA&M is a cultural, educational and social community center. Members rely on the opportunities provided for exhibiting their art, educational offerings that connect a wide range of people to art through demonstrations, lectures and workshops and the possibility to network and support one another. RAA&M offers veterans free classes that provide a sense of community and connection. Our school programs highlight hundreds of Rockport children’s art each spring, providing the experience of satisfaction in sharing one’s creation with others. Our receptions provide solo and group shows for both professional and aspiring artists.
Cape Ann has an important place in American art history starting around 1840 with Fitz Henry Lane. Continuing as a link in this creative chain, presenting works from the past through our extensive collection, and giving current day artists a home for their expression, RAA&M preserves a significant aspect of Cape Ann and Rockport life and tradition for the community and future generations.
