Crys Matthews, with Kat Everett opening
Crys Matthews, grand prize winner of the 2019 NewSong Music Competition at Lincoln Center, performs on the New Moon Coffeehouse stage on Saturday March 21st.
Matthews writes dynamic, thoughtful songs, inspired by her surroundings and the news of the day. She blends Americana, folk, jazz, blues, bluegrass and funk into a bold, complex performance steeped in traditional melodies and punctuated by honest, original lyrics.
The opening act for this show is Kat Everett, a Haverhill poet and spoken word performer. She has played leading roles in local civic and cultural organizations including the recently established COCO Brown nonprofit venue.
Admission to the show is $20; $10 for those ages 18 and under and free for Haverhill HS students with a current ID. Free Parking: There are 2 parking lots available behind the church, on both sides of Ashland St. The coffeehouse entrance is also there, at the back of the church.
Directions: The easiest way to get to the New Moon Coffeehouse is to take Rte 495 to exit 51A (Route 125 South). Stay on Route 125 South for about 1.5 miles. At intersection of Routes 125 & 110, look left for a red brick church. Turn left onto Kenoza Ave (aka Rte 110). Then take the first right by UHaul trucks. And another right onto Ashland St.
