Hope Community Art Project

I N S T R U C T I O N S
Emily Dickinson famously wrote: “Hope is the thing with feathers.”
Artful Life Center in Salem, MA wants to know: What is Hope to you?
How to contribute to the THE THING WITH FEATHERS COMMUNITY COLLABORATION PROJECT
1. Think about what words and images come to mind when you think about hope.
2. Print out the Feather template and Release Form posted in the discussion at https://www.facebook.com/events/1071072146644993.
3. What colors do you think of when you think of HOPE? Color in the feather with these colors. Try to color the whole feather! (tip: Markers, colored pencils, and oil pastels work well. For kids, try printing on pastel colored card stock paper. Avoid paint, glue or wet materials.)
4.Write your definition of hope on the feather. (tip: Use your senses. What does it look, sound, feel, taste like?)
5. Take a photo of you completed feathers to share on social media! We would love for you to tag Artful Life Center, post photos on this event, and you can hashtag #Hopeproject #imagineamoreartfullife #northshorema
6. Tag 5 people on social media you would like to help you spread hope.
7. Cut out the feathers. Sign, or have your guardian sign, the release form. Send us your feathers and release form before July 20, 2020 to :
