Screening of "5 Seasons - The Gardens of Piet Oudolf" in benefit of The Robb Center Capital Campaign

On Earth Day, April 22, 2020, ASCF will present the award winning film “The 5 Seasons; The Gardens of Piet Oudolf”, who is often analogized to gardening as Mick Jagger is to rock and roll.

The \”5 Seasons – The Gardens of Piet Oudolf” is an immersive documentary that reveals how revolutionary landscape designer, Piet Oudolf, upends conventional notions of nature, public space, and, ultimately, beauty itself.

Piet Oudolf has redefined what gardens can be. As Rick Darke, famous botanist, says, “your work teaches us to see what we have been unable to see.”

\”He is to gardening what Mick Jagger is to rock \’n\’ roll, what Fank Lloyd Wright is to architecture\” says Mark Cullen

The “5 Seasons – The Gardens of Piet Oudolf” is an immersive documentary that reveals how revolutionary landscape designer, Piet Oudolf, upends conventional notions of nature, public space, and, ultimately, beauty itself.

Piet Oudolf has redefined what gardens can be. As Rick Darke, famous botanist, says, “your work teaches us to see what we have been unable to see.”

“He is to gardening what Mick Jagger is to rock ‘n’ roll, what Fank Lloyd Wright is to architecture” says Mark Cullen of the Toronto Star.

Discussions are set in Piet’s own gardens, at his signature works in New York, Chicago, and the Netherlands, and locations that inspire his genius, including desert wildflowers in West Texas and post-industrial forests in Pennsylvania. As a narrative thread, the film follows Oudolf as he installs a new garden in Southwest England, that he considers his best work yet.

Presented by the Andover Senior Community Friends in benefit of The Robb Center Capital Campaign for renovation and expansion of the Andover Senior Center.
