Northeast Arc created the ArcWorks program in 2004 in response to a need expressed by families and caregivers for inclusive, more structured opportunities in the arts for the individuals and communities Northeast Arc serves.
ArcWorks initially served as a guild for artists with physical and/or intellectual challenges. Today its mission is to provide an inclusive visual arts experience for artists and viewers of all talents, skills, interests and backgrounds.
The ArcWorks Community Art Center and Gallery Shop opened at 22 Foster Street in Peabody Square in the spring of 2011, with the goal of providing an integrated community arts experience for people who enjoy artistic expression. Participation in workshops and exhibits at the center is open to everyone.
Gallery: ArcWorks host three non-member based galleries designed to encourage emerging artists to display and sell their work along side of recognized local artist. Call for arts and juried exhibits take place throughout the year along with curated shows. Receptions are free and open to the public. One of the galleries is located in Breaking Grounds Café, 67 Main Street Peabody.
Gallery Shop: Inclusive consignment shop featuring up to 50 local artist.
Shine Jewelry Studio: A collection of jewelry designed by local artists with disabilities. Jewelry is available for wholesale.
