Museum of Printing

Museum of Printing

The Museum of Printing is dedicated to preserving the rich history of the graphic arts, printing and typesetting technology, and printing craftsmanship.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, the Museum was founded in 1978 as The Friends of the Museum of Printing, Inc. to save and preserve printing equipment and library materials associated with the graphic arts. The history of printing has changed dramatically during the past 200 years and we tell the stories of these changes using one of the world’s largest collection of printing and typesetting hardware and ephemera.

Visitors will discover an equipment gallery encompassing the letterpress, hot metal, offset, and phototypesetting eras, also an art gallery, two libraries, a working letterpress studio, meeting and conference rooms, and a gift shop.
