The Frank L. Wiggin Auditorium, located on the mezzanine level of City Hall Plaza in the heart of downtown Peabody is a performance and event venue that can accommodate up to 500 guests. Originally built in 1883 and simply called “The Opera House” the Wiggin Auditorium still stands as a grand performance theater, home to Peabody’s annual Holiday Concert, Veteran’s breakfast and Irish Roast. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, the Auditorium received a full makeover in 2018 that restored it back to its original grandeur.
Today, the Auditorium is available for performances, cinema and private event rentals for any occasion including weddings and receptions. The main floor can seat up to 250 guests in rounds or up to 350 theater style. The classic balcony setting on the second floor can hold up to 238 cabaret style and 250 theater style.
